Indigenous reporters across Brazil can apply for these grants.

Agência Pública has launched a new round of its small grants program, this time devoted to indigenous reporters. The outlet is seeking investigative stories that address threats and attacks to indigenous territories and their inhabitants.

Eligible topics for stories may include: territory invasion; theft and destruction of indigenous heritage; corruption and neglect perpetrated by authorities and corporations; violence against indigenous people in the fight for their rights; testimonials and unpublished information that prove violence in recent history.

Five story proposals will be granted BRL7,500 each (approx. US$ 1,500). The reporters will also be mentored by journalists at Agência Pública.

The application deadline is April 10.
