Journalists based in the Middle East and North Africa, or cover the region on a regular basis, can participate in this online safety training course.
The ACOS Alliance, in partnership with the Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism (ARIJ) and the Gulf Center for Human Rights (GCHR), is offering free access to a safety training course provided online by experienced media safety trainers at Silk Road Training.
The course, available in English and Arabic, is designed to help journalists exposed to safety challenges in their work to be better prepared. Selected participants will be able to access the learning platform over a period of 30 days, Oct. 18 to Nov. 17.
Participants will attend a series of five live webinars that will offer interactive scenarios covering life saving first aid, civil unrest, frontline conflict safety and digital security.
Priority will be given to those who have not completed a safety training course before. Freelance journalists can also participate in this course.
The deadline to apply is Sept. 30.
