Digital media accelerator: vacancy exists for journalists, others [Latin America]

Latin American journalists and entrepreneurs with innovative ideas for the creation of new media can apply for this opportunity.

SembraMedia and the Google News Initiative have launched a new edition of the Google News Initiative Startups Lab Latin America: a digital media accelerator that aims to cover news deserts through the development of media projects in the region.

The program will run May-June 2023. Twenty selected candidates will receive online training in audience development, business models, content creation and more. They will also receive financial support to develop their projects. Upon completion of the accelerator program, they will have a minimum viable product ready to be launched and tested with their potential audiences.

Projects that give visibility to women, LGTBQ+ groups, Indigenous peoples, among other communities, are especially encouraged to apply.

The deadline to apply is March 22.
