Documentarians worldwide can submit their non-fiction films and compete for US$500 cash prizes.
The Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, a program of the Big Sky Film Institute, is accepting entries for its 19th annual film festival. Big Sky provides a setting for filmmakers to premiere new work and develop lasting relationships with fellow filmmakers and industry leaders.
Cash prizes will be given for best feature, best short, best mini-doc and the Big Sky Award. Films that win the best short and best mini-doc categories qualify to compete for an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Short Form Documentary Award.
Standard entry fees apply for each category, ranging from US$5 to US$50 for entries received by the regular deadline. Discounted entry fees are available for Montana filmmakers or filmmakers with Montana-based films and indigenous filmmakers.
The film festival will be held in Missoula, Montana in February 2022.
The regular deadline is Aug. 31.
