Earth Journalism Network funds reports on Mediterranean Sea [Morocco, Tunisia]

June 7, 2022

Moroccan and Tunisian journalists interested in in-depth reporting on the Mediterranean Sea can apply for funding.

In honor of World Ocean Day, the Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is offering grants to Moroccan and Tunisian journalists wishing to do in-depth reporting on the extent of unsustainable marine management and biodiversity loss in the Mediterranean Sea.

Two calls for projects are underway: one for Tunisian journalists and the other for Moroccan journalists.

EJN is interested in receiving proposals that highlight the impact of marine activities on coastal communities, including the loss of sustainable livelihoods, the plight of small-scale fishermen, the decline of valuable ecosystems, and the loss of natural and cultural heritage.

Grants will be awarded in July, with a deadline for publication of articles by Oct. 1.

The deadline is June 17.
