Funds for investigative projects available [US]

Journalists working on investigations about politics or corruption in New York City or on the national stage can apply for support.

Type Investigations’ Wayne Barrett Project offers editorial guidance and financial support for investigations. To see previous stories funded by the project, click here.

Journalists working in print, digital and broadcast can apply, and budgets can range from US$5,000 to US$25,000 for travel document fees, compensation and more.

The project is named for journalist Wayne Barrett who worked for the Village Voice and became known for exposing major political figures through diligent reporting.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and will be evaluated monthly.
