Google News Initiative funds women journalism mentorship program [Latin America]

Entrepreneurs from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela can apply for this opportunity.

SembraMedia, with the support of the Google News Initiative, organizes Metis, a business mentoring program for Latin American media entrepreneurs.

The initiative will support 10 women-founded media to make them more sustainable. Founders of the selected startups will participate in monthly meetings with international experts of the digital media ecosystem.

Participants will have free and complete access to the SembraMedia School’s resources, where they will find training on different business models and technology. Virtual training scholarships will also be awarded to 50 applicants.

Startups must have one or more women founders, be digital natives, have a digital-first growth strategy and cover topics of public interest.

The deadline is May 26.
