Google News Initiative supports for digital news entrepreneurs [US]

Aspiring journalism entrepreneurs in the U.S. who are interested in launching an independent digital news startup can apply for this boot camp.

Google News Initiative (GNI) partnered with LION Publishers to launch the GNI Startups Boot Camp, helping aspiring news entrepreneurs in the U.S. and Canada prove there is a need and audience for their idea, build their news product and set their business on the path to sustainability.

The boot camp is free and provides the hands-on support news entrepreneurs need to become independent and stay independent.

Boot camp classes are virtual. The U.S. program runs Sept. 7 to Nov. 5.

The application deadline is Aug. 1.
