Grants focuses on support to media defense centers [Sub-Saharan Africa]

Organizations in Sub-Saharan Africa that support the right to freedom of expression can apply for grants up to US$23,000.

Media Defence is offering four grants to support the delivery of media defense centers in Sub-Saharan Africa. Media Defence is a charity, based in London, which provides legal help to journalists, citizen journalists and independent media across the world.

Organizations, including law centers, interested in applying must either have, or wish to establish, a media defense center to provide free, high quality legal support to journalists and media outlets.

The application deadline is Dec. 14.
