Journalism fellowships to attend diversity symposium available [US]

Journalists can apply for fellowships to attend this symposium virtually or in-person.

Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) is hosting a symposium on diversity, belonging, equity and inclusion (DBEI) issues for newsrooms. IRE is offering fellowships to assist journalists who would like to attend the symposium.

For journalists who attend the symposium in-person, the fellowship provides one-year IRE membership or renewal, complimentary conference registration, three hotel nights and a travel stipend of US$500.

For journalists who attend the symposium virtually, the fellowship includes one-year IRE membership or renewal and complimentary conference registration.

The DBEI symposium will be held Oct. 21 to 23 in Baltimore.

To apply, journalists must submit one to two clips of investigative or journalistic work.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
