openDemocracy: Vacancy exists for editor [Sub-Saharan Africa]

Investigative journalists based in Sub-Saharan Africa are eligible for this remote position.

openDemocracy is accepting applications for an Africa editor who will produce ambitious and impactful investigative journalism for the Tracking the Backlash series. openDemocracy is an independent global media organization seeking to educate citizens to challenge power and encourage democratic debate across the world.

The Africa editor will also edit investigative stories as well as occasional news and feature pieces, including improving structure, ‘nut grafs’ and drafting headlines and standfirsts.

Desired candidates should have experience producing multimedia content and experience working with content management systems.
