For the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to actualize its dreams of winning the next presidential election, the party, as suggested by Professor Iyorwuese Hagher must eschew all forms of sentiments by coming out with a credible candidate.
Hagher stated this at the weekend while in Jalingo, Taraba state alongside his team to have one on one talks with PDP delegates from the state who will be attending the forthcoming national convention of the party.
Calling on the leadership of the party to put aside all forms of sentiments by coming out with a credible presidential candidate that will be acceptable by Nigerians, he said “we are hoping that PDP is desirous of winning next election and will not wobble around and choose anyhow candidate. ”
Urging the party to choose the “best” he suggested that the “PDP has to put its best leg forward and should not look for a southerner, a northerner or a central leader” but choose someone who is highly educated, intelligent and energetic. ”
The team who went ahead to decry the deplorable condition of the country under the All Progressives Congress (APC), said Nigerians need “a country where the educational system will work, where the health system will work” stating that “because the educational system, health system and the agriculture are significant ways of development. “
