Photo competition focuses on Culture, East Africans [Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya]

Visual storytellers in Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda can compete for an award.

The Uganda Press Photo Award (UPPA) is accepting entries for the East African Photography Award (EAPA). The Award was created to shine a spotlight on documentary photography that focuses on people and cultures from the perspective of East African citizens.

The competition is run by the FOTEA Foundation, in partnership with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Uganda, Canon Central and North Africa and others.

Entrants are invited to share multi-image stories on any topic that they find interesting.

All entries must have been taken between Aug.1, 2019 and Aug.1, 2021.

The winners will receive Canon equipment and other prizes.

Entry is free.

The deadline is Aug. 1.
