South African journalists can apply for a ZAR60,000 scholarship to complete a master’s in journalism.
Canon Collins Trust, in partnership with the Mail and Guardian, is offering the Canon Collins Journalism for Social Change Scholarship. The scholarship provides one year of master’s study in journalism, communications or media studies in 2022.
Eligible applicants must be enrolled at a South African University and studying a two-year course in the journalism field.
Fellows will also receive a 12-month paid internship at the Mail and Guardian, mentorship by the highly respected Educationalist and Education Writer alumna Dr. Sara Black and an opportunity to enhance their networks and leadership skills through organized events.
The application deadline is Sept. 22.
